麻美由真于2005年10月出道，2006年时夺得由18间AV制作公司联颁的最优秀女优赏。她的作品曾5度（2005年11月、12月、2006年2月 - 4月）获得日本影碟出租率冠军，是近年最受欢迎的AV女优之一
现在AV界中，她真的是所谓的「AV天后」，不管是厚码出租片商或薄码销售片商都得仰赖她的奶水才能赚钱。
